Detailed itinerary
Day 1Dehradun to Raithal – Drive & Homestay
Your Dayara Bugyal adventure begins from Dehradun with an early morning departure towards Raithal. The scenic drive takes you through Mussoorie, along beautiful Himalayan roads and towards Uttarkashi. The route follows the Bhagirathi River and offers changing views of forests, valleys and mountain villages. As you approach Raithal, the landscape becomes increasingly scenic, with impressive Himalayan peaks visible around the region. Raithal is the base village for the trek and provides a peaceful introduction to the mountains. After reaching the village, check into your homestay and relax. Meet your trek team, attend a short briefing, prepare your backpack and enjoy a warm dinner before resting for the night.
Day 2Raithal to Gui – Trek
After breakfast, begin your trek from Raithal towards Gui campsite. The trail gradually climbs through beautiful oak and rhododendron forests. The initial section provides a steady introduction to Himalayan trekking, with the forest providing shade and peaceful surroundings. As you gain altitude, the views gradually open up and you begin to see the surrounding mountain ranges. During winter, snow can cover sections of the forest trail, creating a completely different landscape. After approximately 4–5 hours of trekking, reach Gui campsite and settle into your accommodation. Spend the evening enjoying the peaceful surroundings, mountain views and fresh Himalayan air. Dinner will be served at the campsite before an overnight stay at Gui.
Day 3Gui to Dayara Bugyal Top – Trek & Return
Today is the highlight of your Dayara Bugyal trek. Start early after breakfast and begin walking from Gui towards the magnificent Dayara Bugyal meadows. The forest gradually gives way to wide open grasslands, revealing expansive Himalayan landscapes. Continue towards Dayara Top, the highest point of the trek at approximately 12,000 ft. From the top, enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding Himalayan ranges, including Bandarpoonch and other prominent peaks. During winter, the meadows can transform into a beautiful snow-covered landscape. Spend some time at the top, capture photographs and enjoy the peaceful mountain surroundings. After exploring the summit area, descend back towards the campsite and relax after completing the day's trek.
Day 4Gui to Raithal – Trek & Drive to Dehradun
After breakfast, begin your final trekking day by descending from Gui towards Raithal. The trail takes you back through the beautiful oak and rhododendron forests that you crossed during the ascent. The descent is generally easier, allowing you to enjoy the surroundings and reflect on your trek. Once you reach Raithal village, have some refreshments and prepare for the return journey. From Raithal, board your vehicle and begin the scenic drive towards Dehradun. The journey takes you back through Uttarkashi and the beautiful Himalayan valleys. Reach Dehradun by evening, marking the end of your Dayara Bugyal trekking adventure with memories of forests, meadows, snow and spectacular mountain views.
