Day 1

Rishikesh to Lohajung – Drive & Homestay

Your Brahmatal adventure begins from Rishikesh with an early morning departure towards Lohajung. The scenic mountain drive takes you through winding Himalayan roads, charming villages, rivers, and beautiful valleys. As you gain altitude, the landscape gradually changes from the plains to lush mountain forests and towering Himalayan surroundings. After reaching Lohajung, the base village of the trek, check into your homestay and relax. Spend the evening preparing for the trek, checking your equipment, and meeting your trek team. A warm dinner will be served at the homestay. Overnight stay at Lohajung, where you can rest before beginning the trek the following morning.

Day 2

Lohajung to Bekaltal – Trek

After breakfast, begin your first trekking day from Lohajung towards Bekaltal. The trail gradually climbs through beautiful oak and rhododendron forests, offering a peaceful Himalayan walking experience. Depending on the season and snowfall, parts of the trail may be covered with snow, making the journey even more scenic. The forest trail provides excellent opportunities to enjoy the surrounding mountains and natural beauty. After reaching Bekaltal, explore the tranquil lake surrounded by dense forest and mountains. During winter, the lake is often frozen and creates a spectacular landscape. Settle into the campsite, enjoy a warm meal, and relax overnight near Bekaltal.

Day 3

Bekaltal to Brahmatal – Trek

Begin the day after breakfast and continue your journey from Bekaltal towards Brahmatal. Today's trail takes you deeper into the Himalayan landscape, with changing terrain, forest sections, open meadows, and snow-covered stretches during winter. The route gradually climbs towards Brahmatal, offering beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. As you approach the campsite, the landscape becomes increasingly dramatic, with snow-covered slopes and peaceful alpine surroundings. Reach Brahmatal and explore the area around the lake. During the winter season, Brahmatal can be beautifully frozen and surrounded by snow. Enjoy a hot meal at the campsite and spend the night in the peaceful Himalayan wilderness.

Day 4

Brahmatal – Brahmatal Top – Lohajung

This is the most exciting day of the trek. Start early after breakfast and begin the climb towards Brahmatal Top, the highest point of the trek at approximately 12,000 ft. The trail passes through snow-covered terrain and open ridges, offering spectacular views as you gain altitude. Reaching the summit provides an unforgettable experience, with panoramic Himalayan views stretching across the surrounding peaks and valleys. Spend some time at the top, capture photographs, and enjoy the incredible mountain scenery. After the summit, begin your descent towards Lohajung. Reach the village by evening, check into your accommodation, enjoy dinner, and rest after completing the main trekking section.

Day 5

Lohajung to Rishikesh – Drive Back

After breakfast, check out from your accommodation in Lohajung and begin your return journey towards Rishikesh. The drive takes you through the beautiful Himalayan roads that you travelled during the first day. Enjoy the changing landscapes as you gradually descend from the mountains towards the lower valleys. Along the way, you can take short breaks for refreshments and photographs, depending on the road and travel conditions. After reaching Rishikesh, the Brahmatal trekking expedition officially concludes. Carry back memories of snow-covered forests, frozen alpine lakes, Himalayan views, and the summit experience. Your journey ends in Rishikesh with the successful completion of the trek.

How to reach Brahmatal

From Rishikesh

Rishikesh is the recommended starting point. Reach Lohajung by road via Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag and Tharali; depart early because the journey takes several hours.

From Delhi

Reach Rishikesh by train, bus or private vehicle, then continue to Lohajung by road. An overnight stay in Rishikesh is convenient for late arrivals.
